Is Rapid Weight Loss Something Achievable?

Often, losing weight, even on a rapid weight loss program is something we try and fit into our otherwise busy weekly routines although it should really be considered much more important. Following your weight loss diet program to the letter is key to achieving the weight loss you want but many changes are needed, some of which are detailed below. The speed at which a person will lose weight depends on many factors; some of these are listed here:

  • Obesity or weight problems that may run in the family
  • Psychological problems
  • Attitude towards improving their health

A person's weight can cause severe mental and physical anguish. It is not just a feeling of value but physical aspects including general exercise, clothing and health issues are all challenged by this condition which can be changed with weight loss. Rapid weight loss programs can achieve this but they are generally a combination of things; anyone contemplating this type of program needs to start eating a healthy diet as well as taking part in daily physical activity. Exercise should be regular and consistent with at least fifteen minutes per day doing anything that is good for cardiovascular health, like swimming, running, brisk walking and even dancing.

Not all rapid weight loss plans will work with everyone and those that do work will produce different results for everyone that uses them; we are all unique and cannot expect to lose weight at the same rate. The flexibility required for the diet plan might also be required for the exercise program as well to increase the difficulty level if the weight isn't being lost as quickly as expected. Each person has a unique metabolism and when a particular program is not proving successful, it does not mean that success cannot be found with another diet plan.

You would be wise to choose an exercise method that suits your physical abilities so if all you are able to do is walk then that is fine; calories are burnt quicker with muscle that has been converted from fat, even as a result of walking, but not everyone is suited to vigorous physical exertion. Exercise often means a great deal of body fluids are lost and need to be replaced; drink plenty of water on your rapid weight loss program, at least six large glasses per day and don't forget it also flushes out toxins from the body. Keep away from fried foods especially deep-fried as they contain a great amount of fat and whilst fish and chicken appear leaner than beef, this white meat can contain more fat than when beef is fried.

Foods that are grilled are by definition, not cooked in oil or their own fat which means once cooked they retain little or no fat so are better for overall health. It is not a good idea to cut out carbohydrates altogether as they are the fuel your body needs to keep going. Using a weight loss plan like this will mean that if followed correctly then around a pound a day will be lost, depending on the individual but it must be said that failure to maintain this level of 1,000 to 1,500 calories per day will ensure the weight will be put back on.
